I always write that I wonder how I will run the day after a long run, and then always surprise myself at how well I go. Never fast the next day, but always seem to feel good, just cruise along and enjoy the day. This morning was one to enjoy after the fog had lifted. The forecast for the few days is not good, just hope for a fine morning tomorrow for our monthly handicap, so I can blast past CJ and Strewth. That's when you know whether you are fit and have recovered from the long runs.
Today, a run down to the river, I always like the river area on a sunny day, even in winter, just make you feel like there's not a care in the world. A few people about, not many. I stopped after about 10 kms to stand in the water for 10 minutes, nice and cool, ( that's the secret), then continued on.
Very soon "salad" will be going back to Tassie, so I can get back to eating pasta with garlic, I need the calories.
