Full Circuit of Tuggeranong Hill

Today:
Distance: 20.6 km
Time: 1hr 56 mins 49 secs
Rate: 5' 40"
Weather: sunny, temp 24-28 degrees, humidity 44%, light nth breeze
Week: 33.85 km
Jan & Year: 234.25 km - 12/15 days = 19.52 km per run day

Really nice day in the nation's capital and not too warm. I headed towards Theodore via the Calwell oval to the sub station near Ewen's place. It was the first time in a few years that I have ran the full base circuit around Tuggeranong Hill. Usually I cut over the ridge between Calwell and Conder which shortens the trip by a couple of kms but it has much more elevation going up past the two reservoirs.
This base circuit is not exactly flat, in fact it is very undulating but there are plenty of places to recover before the next climb. Just under 8 kms make it a good challenge.
The oval has had the grass cut again and is in very good condition. With showers forecast for later in the week, the oval will be in top condition by the weekend. Ewen may consider organising the Calwell 12 hour for later in the year just to show off to the rest of the nation.
Great day out today, good solid run, very enjoyable.

  • If I organise it, I won't be able to run! A 'dusk to dawn' would be good - might need a moonlit night, as the lights are facing the wrong way.
