Hawks Nest Beach Run

Today:
Where: Hawks Nest, NSW
Distance:  11.15 km
Time: 62' 07"
Rate:  5' 34" per km
Weather: sunny, temp 17 degrees, humidity 55%, wind almost calm, sea temp 18 degrees
Week:  36.6 km, Aug: 80.15 km,  Year: 1426.1 km

Moved to Hawks Nest on the top side of Port Stephens bay. Yesterday it rained, it was cold, and it didn't look like the weekend would be much. However, a few overnight rain drops finally disappeared and today is nice. The best part is the wind has dropped and turned from southerly to light NW.
The van park is just behind the sand dunes, only a 100 metres from the beach, so nice and easy to find somewhere to run. Good conditions, ran bare feet as usual on the sand. It will be hard to run in shoes again when I get home. Finished with a quick swim to wash off the salt, not as cold as I expected in the waves.
The beach is on a slope, not used to that where elsewhere it has been almost flat. Combined with a near high tide, running wasn't easy, but it did make me put in a effort, I need to lift my game and now try to get fit.
The southern end of the beach had plenty of people watching a whale having fun just off the beach. Easy to spot the tail in the water, not sure on the size of the whale, but they are so magnificent to see in the ocean.
