Base Building

Today:
Where: Tuncurry Beach
Distance:  14.8 km
Time:  79' 49"
Rate:  5' 24"  per km
Weather:  sunny, beaut day, temp 23 degrees, humidity 55%, wind calm
Week:   60.3 km,  May:  98.4 km,  Year:  1747.75 km

Back to just running up and down the beach today as part of the rebuilding process. Nothing exciting about the running on another perfect day.
The tide was high at noon so I ran mid morning as we also had a lunch date.
The incoming tide meant that going up the beach was on the harder packed sand, but it was much softer on the way back. Ran plenty of it in the water to cool the feet and give some resistance.
Finished again with a short splash in the sea, nice water temperature to wash off sand and sweat.
Lunch at " Beach Bums", fish & chips as you would but the lamb shanks looked good.
Long run tomorrow as we travel back home on Saturday, rest day.
Ewen,  lane 1 at Calwell oval was flattened by Softshoe doing 50 kms on Wednesday. No wonder it was better than less used lanes 5 or 6.

  • Ah, that explains it. Pretty bumpy too whereas the other lanes are smooth - better on the feet, but a bit slower/harder going.
