Went to Tuesday group at Black mountain peninsular this morning to catch up with quite a few fellow vet runners & walkers at the regular weekly gathering. Good to see so many there and healthy enough to get out for an hour. Nice mild morning as well.
I arrived early knowing no one else would want to do any part of Black Mountain as I wanted to check out where the Centenary trail went going south after coming from Belconnen.
I didn't get lost, but didn't finish where I thought I would be, back at the entrance to the Botanical Gardens. It didn't matter, a good solid hilly run.
After a chat & a drink, I went over to Campbell Park to check out the course for Sunday's first monthly handicap of the year. No rain for many months means the track is bone dry, the small creek bed is dry, so no problems with the course. The long course is 6 kms, out and back. Straightforward & easy to mark on the day. Put down a few markers for turnaround & km, so all done until Sunday.
Running up Mt Rob Roy on Thursday morning, should be a good fun morning with someone who hasn't been there before.
