Better for the Rest

Today:
Purpose: Post rest day run
Distance:  11.5 km
Time:   67' 58"
Rate:  5' 54" per km
Weather:  sunny, temp 10 degrees, humidity 50%, wind SE 5 kmph

Week:  11.5 km,  July: 172.9 km,  Year:  3048.05 km

Sometimes the day after a rest day are a bit hard to get moving. The legs just don't want to cooperate.
The first couple of kms today were a bit like that, then it all came together.
There is something to be said for a good rest day. Not just a non running day, doing some other cross training session, but a complete rest day.
For me, that mean driving the car to work, not even a half km walk to the bus stop for my free ride to work. Same applies at the end of the day.
Even had a nana nap in the chair at lunch time, so good.
Today, a nice comfortable run home and back to work. Second half felt really good. No problems, but still need to be up there in kms during the week.
I can't expect Kerrie M to keep me going on Saturday while Softshoe is away on a tropical island holiday.
