Today I was lucky enough to run from work to home before the weather turned very winter late this afternoon. The run took me along the edge of the river to Point Hut, past the Gordon pond and Lanyon shops to the base track of Tuggeranong Hill. Over to the sub station, behind Ewen's house towards Calwell shops and home.
Half year review shows the biggest number of kms I have ever done, but I did 3 ultras in the first 5 months. Lots of kms in Dec, Jan and Feb resulted in good runs at Maroondah Dam 50 km, Six Foot Track 45 km and Glasshouse Mountains 82 km.
The next 2 months will need to each be over 500 km each, but the long run each Saturday is more important than the total kms completed. They just make the Sat runs easier. The drought to continue for the next 8 weeks would be good, maybe a little drizzle overnight to fill the dams.
Strewth, the good news is early August I will get my week in Qld, just a few thousand kms north of the Gold Coast. "Salad" will go back to Tassie soon after, but may be back in Feb next year for a few weeks.

  • Lucky bastard. It was a freezing SW wind when I was running.

A one-way ticket for salad would be the go.
