It was finally a chance to go a bit longer today with a cloudy cooler day. Funnily, lacked motivation to get out of the chair watching the cricket at work, but their lunch break came around so I headed out.
I went towards Urambi Hill, was thinking of doing the base track but changed my mind and ran/walked over the top. There I met a man with his dog, the man was fine but the dog only had 3 legs, 1 hind leg missing. How the poor dog gets up and down this hill I can't work out. The man said the dog doesn't know any different and gets the around as best he can. That says something about not knowing what can be done if you just put your mind to it, and persevere.
Stated to come good after that, really felt flat and lethargic before. Must have been the down hill going towards Gleneagles and the faster open paddock on the river side of Urambi.
Reached the Tuggie creek and headed off to the Kookaburra Gate. Turned there, then back on the river track to Pine Is and up the road to work.
The clouds lifted a bit, some sun shine, humidity higher than recent days. Turned out to be better than early on suggested. Must have been the dog.

I think there was a comment made in the news today, that Kookaburras are seldom heard now.
And there was a report of a Platypus caught in a discarded fishing line and dying. Somewhere near the lake at regatta point or thereabouts.
