A rest day yesterday both planned & forced upon me by work commitments. Probably the best of both worlds as there was no debating whether I should or shouldn't take a day off running. No gym session either.
I did however, find an alternative way of strength exercise by using the bars in the bus for chin ups. A few done between each route soon adds up to more than enough for one day. They do get more difficult later in the day. I did struggle to maintain control & form.
Today, squeezed in a short run, just the 9 kms plus 12 minutes standing in the cool water of the river. That combined with 20 minutes in the gym and a few chin ups in the bus resulted in a fairly productive day on the exercise front without being too much. I am tapering or at least easing down this week & next.
